Alan J. Bennett received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, and a Management Certificate, from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985, graduating with University Honors and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received a Juris Doctor Degree from the St. John's University School of Law in 1988. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1988, and to the New York Bar in 1989. He is also admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Bennett has represented foreign and domestic companies, insurance companies and individuals before the Federal and State Courts of New York and New Jersey, the New York State and City Divisions of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the New York State Department of Labor. Mr. Bennett has counseled foreign and domestic companies, businesses and housing complexes in the formulation, enactment and enforcement of employment manuals, and anti-discrimination policies. He has advocated for, and has litigated against, large international insurance companies concerning insurance coverage, such as director’s and officer’s liability. Mr. Bennett also acts as trial counsel to other law firms.
